וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּ בַבֹּקֶר֮ מִֽמָּחֳרָת֒ וְהִנֵּ֣ה דָג֗וֹן נֹפֵ֤ל לְפָנָיו֙ אַ֔רְצָה לִפְנֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן יְהוָ֑ה וְרֹ֨אשׁ דָּג֜וֹן וּשְׁתֵּ֣י ׀ כַּפּ֣וֹת יָדָ֗יו כְּרֻתוֹת֙ אֶל־הַמִּפְתָּ֔ן רַ֥ק דָּג֖וֹן נִשְׁאַ֥ר עָלָֽיו׃
Keesokan harinya, ketika mereka bangun pagi-pagi, tampaklah Dagon telah jatuh tertelungkup ke tanah di hadapan tabut Yang Mahakekal. Kepala Dagon dan kedua telapak tangannya terpotong dan tergeletak di ambang pintu; hanya tubuh Dagon saja yang masih tersisa.
